“La ciudad de los prodigios” (The City of Marvels) is a famous novel by Eduardo Mendoza, which chronicles the explosive growth of Barcelona during the era of Catalan Modernism. The official logo of the Barcelona Modernism Route is the “Panot,” popularly known as the Gaudí Flower. For this binding, I used the Panot as the focal point of the book. It features a case binding with onlays and inlays of the Panot, using blue and brown goatskin leather to represent the union of Barcelona's land and sea.
